A Fresh Slate

I am now all moved in to my new apartment as part of the Catholic House on campus. Classes start tomorrow. Right now it is really starting to sink in that as of tomorrow at eight in the morning I will officially be starting my sophomore year of college.

As I am sitting here dwelling on the impending workload, I am starting to think of some goals that I have for the new year.

1. I would like to improve on my relationship with my roommate(s)

2. I would like to volunteer more than I did last year

3. I would like to have a GPA higher than a 3.7

4. I would like to be more active around campus.

When I picked these four goals I was thinking of the effect they will have on me as an all around student. My university preaches that college is more than just classes its about learning to be a well rounded person. I feel that if I work at these it will help me with that.

Last year I did not have a good relationship with my roommates. While we did manage to live together for a year, I would not go out of my way to talk to them right now. That's something I want to change in the future.

When I look at the new semester I am about to start I am looking at a brand new slate that I would love to cover with great memories.

Summer...

Its hard to believe that in less than a month I will be moving back to campus and start my third semester as a college student. This next semester will be a tough one with lots of sciences and nursing credits. But can you tell I am really excited about that.

Even though I'm really excited about school, I'm also going to miss some of the key things that summer brings. For me I always enjoy working as a historical interpreter at the Genesee Country Village and Museum. This year was really cool because I got to become really close with another interpreter as we researched the family of John D. Hamilton, the owner of one of the houses we both work in.

In addition this summer, I got to spend a lot of time with family just hanging around the house and pool. My mother and I took on the task of finishing two quilts for my sister. Working together on this project has been a fun bounding experience for me.

As I start to think about school, stay tuned for more posts about college prep and tips :)

As always enjoy your day and remember to smile!!
